We keep our usual reading time around breakfast throughout the year, skipping a few days when we’re not feeling great or need a break. Offered the choice regularly, the kids always want to keep this element of our day.

On Violence
Maybe it’s unamerican to admit fear because of our revolutionary past. But we are entrenched now, and I am afraid. I nightmare, I watch. My forehead wrinkles crease more deeply in certain shared spaces.

One week down…. Off we go, marching into the weekend at half pace, after a full week of go-go-go. I, for one, am tired. Full week, good week. May there be another.

Between the intermittent snow + rain, we managed to get out quite a bit. This week was dedicated to science experiments, which the kids have decided they truly love.

Deep breath in… We’re hitting the end of our “school year,” or at least the part where I report it officially. We’re clearly ready to be outside nonstop, away from books and the table. Deep breath out… Two more weeks.

Last Week in Photos – April 17, 2021
Week largely at home, with grandparent visit and inclement weather. We cooked out back, trampolined regularly and swam in Evergreen. There’s impatience in the air daily now; we’re thrumming with spring energy. Let us out!
