April 11 – Weekly Tracking
Overwhelmed with work this week, so there’s no drawing section. Oh well. Pared down to the basics between grandparents and the need for down time, plus inclement weather. Are we done yet?!?
April 4 – Weekly Tracking
Okay, we’re rolling on the outdoor time this week! We’ll make it to 20 soon, and I’m super excited. Grandparents visit began Wednesday, so we shoved responsibilities into the first three days of the week, and then took two days off. Yet the documentarian in me still writes!
March 28 – Weekly Tracking
Road trip to Colby, KS, over last weekend. It started our week slowly, which was nice. We visited my parents’ and finally saw the new house they’ve been living in since last fall! Gained some momentum with nice weather and lots of time outside by the end of the week. We’re done with our first 100 hours outside – slow and steady!
A Weekly Rhythm How-To
Aligning daily life with our goals simplifies and creates space to do the things we want. The rhythm has room for progression and change, but I also look forward to recurring events, measure my days by baking and hiking. It shapes our week, our month.
March 21 – Weekly Tracking
We had a pretty imaginative week, filled with book-inspired discussions and real-life play of our favorite video games. The kids recreated Among Us tasks around the house with paper and the recycling, and we’ve since set them up other places in our new portable Among Us (formerly Quaker Oat) tub. The last few days: yard Minecraft. What will be next?!?
March 15 – Weekly Tracking
Lots of indoor time this week with the snowpocalypse – more than 2 feet of snow! We played in it, of course, just not for long. Huge clumps fell from our trees on top of us every time we ventured out. Group sledding on Friday was a favorite.
Gardening By the Numbers
I was weighing out granola ingredients on the kitchen scale. Seeing the scale next to the vegetables gave me an idea: “Hey, guys, let’s weigh our produce!” I’d decide, by volume, if this food-growing process was even worth the investment.
March 7 – Weekly Tracking
Getting more and more time accumulated toward our 1000 hours goal with the lovely spring-like weather. This is usually when our “school year” switches gears from book work to outside x 100, but we’re not there yet, mentally. Soon?
