A Kansas/Missouri visit in the full of summer makes for tired, sweaty people. We haven’t done this for two years, however, and so we entered into our travels with enthusiasm. After all, it was Grandma Carole’s 75th birthday!
I don’t know if it’s simply reactive, a post-Covid leaving of the space we were forced to inhabit for a year, but we’ve been far busier than expected this particular year.
We were only home for three days this past week. Sigh. Poor planning, really. But there wasn’t anything I’d skip. Happy summer!
It’s summah! Park, swim, eat, play, pet, visit, catch – go go go!
A week away, breathing and swimming in the mountain air, with our a 500-square-foot rustic cabin to hide in from the hail equals some pretty zen kids and parents.
Short week, due to illness. We celebrated a stuffy-headed Rosetta’s 9th birthday on Wednesday, inviting only the same people who got us sick and limiting the activity portion of the party to trampoline balloons and a hamster ball. Plus an aunt brought colorful wigs!
Week largely at home, with grandparent visit and inclement weather. We cooked out back, trampolined regularly and swam in Evergreen. There’s impatience in the air daily now; we’re thrumming with spring energy. Let us out!
Highlights this week: Grandparents visit, so lots of cousin time! We dialed in outdoor hours before the cold snap. Then we hunkered down with our Lego village, field trip goodies and lots of group gaming.
Highlights this week: We tried to move around more this week, even in the “yucky, mean” weather. Then we poured Legos onto the living room floor for the whole month.
